The method: a triad has 3 tones (root, 3rd, 5th). Playing it on any 3 adjacent strings gives you 3 inversions — Root Position, 1st Inversion, 2nd Inversion — depending on which tone sits in the bass. Switch to 7th Chords for the 4-note arpeggios. A 4-string bass gives you 2 triad string sets; a 5-string adds a third.
